Reed & Mackay Enhances Suite of Sustainable Travel Tools Through Collaboration with Clarasight

Collaboration provides enhanced decision-making capabilities for clients through data-driven benchmarking and forecasting

NEW YORK, 5 March 2025 – Reed & Mackay, a global leader in corporate travel and event management, today announced a new collaboration with Clarasight to provide clients with the option to improve efficiency, drive cost savings and emissions-reductions. The integration of Reed & Mackay (R&M) data with Clarasight’s market-leading platform will enable both parties to deploy actionable insights for their shared clients.

Clarasight, a leading carbon planning and intelligence platform for business travel, provides organizations with CO2 emissions reporting with purpose-built software that goes further by providing forecasting, planning, management and budgeting.

Reed & Mackay is a pioneer in delivering sustainable solutions for business travel. In 2023, the company fully integrated its CO2 reporting into its proprietary technology platform through a collaboration with SQUAKE, allowing customers to access granular data on their travel programs to make sustainable choices at each step of their booking experience. Now, with today’s announcement, Clarasight and Reed & Mackay will have the combined ability to leverage that granular data, from across R&M’s legal, insurance, finance and professional service sectors, to provide additional insight.

As part of the collaboration, Reed & Mackay and Clarasight are launching a first-of-its-kind travel and emissions benchmarking solution. Business travel and events clients will be able to benchmark their travel (i.e. activity, spend and emissions) against their peers and industry. This functionality will provide both company-level and city-pair level benchmarking so organizations can use data to build and manage purposeful travel programs that are smart and sustainable.

“Many of our clients are focused on ways to drive emissions reduction further into their travel programs. Simply tracking emissions is no longer enough – there needs to be coherent and achievable activity to back this up, and this is where the Clarasight platform can really add significant value,” said Reed & Mackay’s Global Sustainability Director, Chris Truss. “This is an exciting collaboration because it allows us to leverage our existing CO2 data and reporting capabilities to provide a platform for our customers with access to highly strategic guidance for more enhanced, forward-looking sustainable travel programs.”

Clarasight delivers real-time carbon planning and forecasting for businesses, empowering leaders to manage emissions with the same rigor as financial plans. Using data from multiple sources – sorted by travel purpose, travel mode, routes, etc. – Clarasight provides historical and predictive insights and recommended strategies for clients’ specific sustainability requirements for their business travel programs.

As a key component of the partnership, Reed & Mackay and Clarasight will use their combined datasets to publish analyses and thought leadership pieces to the wider industry. The aim is to provide transparency, information and context to encourage dialogue and discussion, and to help drive change within the industry. The first of these analyses and thought leadership pieces is planned for release in March.

“Carbon emissions planning in business travel is no longer a ‘nice to have,’ it’s a strategic imperative,” said Clarasight’s CEO & Co-Founder, Adam Braun. “We’re thrilled to partner with Reed & Mackay to allow their global client base to embed data-driven forecasting, scenario modelling and carbon budgeting capabilities to efficiently manage emissions and meet regulatory requirements with purpose.”

Reed & Mackay has a long-standing reputation for providing sustainable travel solutions for customers through expert in-house consulting and innovative technology and tools. Today’s announcement with Clarasight is the next evolution of the company’s commitment to sustainability. In the last three years, R&M has become a United Nations Global Compact participant; became the first TMC, along with its with parent company Navan Inc., to partner with Neste to access sustainable aviation biofuels for clients; undertaken a fully audited global CO2 footprinting exercise in line with ISO 14064; completed its first disclosure through CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project); become an EcoVadis-accredited supplier; and committed to going net zero by 2045.
