Team Lead Events

REPORTING TO: EVENT OEPRATIONS MANAGER, NORTH AMERICA

POSITION TYPE: FULL TIME- US REMOTE BASED

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Deliver exceptional support to key clients, the General Manager, Operations Manager, and the
    broader Events team.
  • Foster strong relationships across all departments at Reed & Mackay, sharing industry-leading market
    insights and best practices in Events.
  • Drive maximum revenue growth across all Reed & Mackay Events offerings while ensuring a
    substantial return on investment for clients.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the primary client liaison for the Events Department, you will champion Reed & Mackay’s vision and goals
by delivering exceptional support across the US:

  • Monitor team performance, providing clear direction, training, coaching, and motivation to achieve (and exceed) agreed targets.
  • Mentor and develop team members to excel in client satisfaction and event delivery.
  • Ensure an equitable distribution of workload among team members, collaborating with other Team Leaders to flex staff resources as needed for broader business demands.
  • Address employee performance concerns proactively, escalating to the General Manager or Operations Manager when necessary.
  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, fostering a productive and growth oriented work environment within R&M Events.
  • Deliver cost-effective solutions that maximize revenue across all event-related activities.
  • Continuously enhance your knowledge of the events industry and R&M platforms to uphold and elevate our standard of excellence.
  • Manage your own client portfolio with exceptional care, setting a benchmark for customer service while driving client retention and growth opportunities.
  • Provide on-site event support as needed.
  • Build and nurture meaningful, long-term relationships both internally and externally.
  • Act as a problem solver, delivering effective solutions to any challenges that arise.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to meet client requirements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance value for event inquiries and drive both existing and new business growth.
  • Additional tasks as assigned

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Leadership: Proven experience leading and managing teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Event Planning Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in event planning preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Suite, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Cvent Proficiency: at least 2 + years
  • Multitasking: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and efficiently address urgent matters.
  • Professionalism: Empathetic and professional attitude in all interactions.
  • Adaptability: Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Independent thinker with resourcefulness to troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries effectively.
  • Flexibility: Reliable and adaptable to working non-traditional shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
  • Travel Enthusiasm: Interest in travel with a foundational understanding of world geography
