Reed & Mackay, the global service leader for corporate travel and event management, obtained its first ISO certification in 2006, and has retained its four ISO certifications – ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO/IEC 27001 (Information Security), ISO 22301 (Business Continuity) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) – for the ninth year running.
As companies look for travel partners with the highest of standards across all elements of business, Reed & Mackay recognises that maintaining industry standards gives clients, prospects and other interested parties a higher level of confidence.
“It shows Reed & Mackay has the necessary controls in place to keep our client data secure; maintain continuity of our services; retain our renowned focus on quality; and consider the environment in all that we do,” Reed & Mackay Risk, Quality & Compliance Manager Andrew Milne explains. “These standards help ensure policies, processes and controls are in place and operating effectively.
“We are proud that we continue to retain these standards, following an annual surveillance audit, particularly against a background of significant disruption and change in the travel industry.”
All Reed & Mackay staff receive a comprehensive programme of mandatory induction and training on joining the company and a mandatory annual compliance refresher. This training covers a range of compliance topics, including those covered by the standards the company is audited against.
A CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
Reed & Mackay has been certified to ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) since 2009 and, when the company published its inaugural Sustainability and Responsible Business Report earlier this year, it was, in part, in recognition of the growing interest in the sustainability agenda and its importance in the travel sector. Yet it was also to illustrate that being sustainable, in addition to caring about the environment, is also about conducting business responsibly.
“The Sustainability and Responsible Business Report aligns well with the efforts we have made over the last few years to integrate our management system across the four standards and certify it as a single entity,” Milne adds.
Reed & Mackay also undergoes an annual EcoVadis sustainability assessment and, in March, the company improved its EcoVadis rating from Bronze to Gold. This rating, in combination with the Sustainability and Responsible Business report, demonstrates Reed & Mackay’s commitment to investing in the sustainability of its own business and in helping clients meet their travel-related sustainability goals.
