Richard Boardman

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Richard started his professional career in the Insurance sector where he developed his adept leadership skills. In 1995, he brought his expertise to Reed & Mackay, assuming the role of Managing Director. During his tenure, the company experienced remarkable growth, evolving from 38 staff members and a turnover of £17 million to a prominent player in the industry.

In his capacity as Managing Director until 2007, Richard played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic vision, overseeing financial management, fostering a positive organizational culture, and guiding the overall direction of the business. Notably, he led the company through a period of sustained organic growth.

In 2007, Richard elevated his role to Chief Executive, transitioning from direct operational control to a focus on international development, industry board representation, corporate social responsibility, and the preservation of the company’s core values. His leadership during this phase reinforced the company’s standing as a global player.

In 2011, having successfully navigated Reed & Mackay through significant milestones, Richard transitioned from the CEO position while maintaining a Non-Executive role. His enduring commitment to the company’s values, strategic objectives and in particular service excellence continues to make a lasting impact, cementing his legacy as a key architect of Reed & Mackay’s success.
