PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
You’re a great storyteller and understand the power of using it to build an inspiring and influential B2B brand and value proposition. Working with colleagues across R&M international markets you will strive to tell a joinedup Global story driving our reputation forward in a consistent tone of voice, and style. You’re skilled in
developing messaging and high-level communications, and cleverly adapting it to a variety of channels. With a strategic understanding of the shaping a corporate narrative, you will work with the marketing team to ensure consistency across the funnel from awareness, to demand and go to market.
Understanding the value of demonstrating industry leadership and authority, you will be quick to identify and jump on opportunities to ensure we are active voices and contributors to the growth of Business Travel and Events. From traditional channels like industry media, awards and speaker opportunities to digital channels like social media and online forums, you know what will shift the dial from messaging to engagement, choosing the right channels for the right stories. This includes managing the cascade into the internal communications team lead, to ensure consistency of message internally and externally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shape and craft compelling, persuasive corporate narratives and messaging which can be adapted across several channels.
- Own and manage the relationships with key industry press in business travel, event and also explore sector press. Find opportunities to pitch stories, and creating high quality material for press including pitches, media releases and op-eds to support launches, wins, and strategic updates to the industry. Ensuring a clear channel of communication with the Navan Group to ensure consistency of message group wide.
- Proactively support high-quality content execution for our social media strategy, working with the marketing team to build a calendar of social media content designed to encourage engagement and drive organic traffic to our website, actively joining up the story across Global markets. Working with localteams to localise and execute.
- Monitor social media channels to respond and react on behalf of our corporate profile in a timely manner to news stories and industry influencers.
- Monitor and own industry awards entries, working with internal teams to ensure deadlines are met for the kinds of awards that will add value to our brand and reputation.
- Maintain the Reed & Mackay Senior leadership teams’ biographies for media relations and speaking opportunities.
- Support research to identify editorial and speaker opportunities for Events and Corporate Travel.
- Measure and report on media coverage and own share of voice reporting.
- Manage Reed & Mackay’s contribution to Annual Report content and communications
- Line management for internal communications role
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Takes a proactive and flexible approach to work and is comfortable with a dynamic environment, agile enough to shift with evolving priorities
- Manage multiple projects concurrently requiring excellent organisation and coordination skills
- Solid corporate comms and PR experience, working within a fast-paced, high-growth business travel environment is beneficial.
- Experience of developing PR and communications for Publicly owned businesses is a distinct advantage
- Create compelling content across multiple platforms, our company profile and engagement
- Build strong media relationships, optimising Reed & Mackay’s profile and managing press enquiries
- A degree in Marketing, PR/Media, Communications or English would be a great grounding for this role.
- You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be fluent in English. Additionally, French, German and Spanish language skills are a definite bonus.
- You will have excellent copywriting skills and will enjoy producing original content.
- You will have experience managing social channels – distribution, measurement, post writing, platform employee advocacy.
- You will be a creative thinker who independently generates and executes innovative ideas.
- You will have strong organisational skills to manage competing projects with tight deadlines effectively.
