It’s not surprising that Paris is one of the most popular cities in the world for meetings and events, thanks to some of the best event venues, a renowned food and drink culture and excellent transport links for international attendees.
Plus, it holds a certain je ne sais quoi. “Paris will always be Paris. Its cultural and artistic heritage make the city a magnet for many,” Reed & Mackay Head of Meetings & Events France Barbara Labrit says.
“And it’s no surprise the city attracts major international events such as the 2023 Rugby World Cup and 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Paris has more than 140,000 hotel rooms. Plus it has three airports and 10 train stations, meaning it is well equipped to host events of all sizes,” Labrit adds.
There are a multitude of venues in the French capital to choose from, whether you’re planning your next corporate event, conference, party or meeting. Labrit shares seven of the best in the city.
L’ Elysée Montmartre
The first Parisian ballroom, the Elysée Montmartre (pictured above: photo credit Elysée Montmartre) opened its doors in 1807 and quickly became a popular venue for partygoers.
A fine example of 19th-century Parisian history, the Elysée Montmartre can be tailored to suit any event. The space features a retractable stage. And, when removed, it offers nearly 800 square metres, with room for 1,000 cocktail guests or 600 seated. When the stage is used, the space can host 800 cocktail guests or 450 seated.
Pavillons de Bercy – L’Musée des Arts Forains
A unique event space for corporate events and private gatherings, this museum houses antique fairground art and vintage amusement rides in a 19th-century setting.
Event planners can book immersive event packages with access to four themed pavilions. These include the ‘Theatre of Marvels’ and the ‘Venetian Lounges’, each filled with historical artefacts, theatrical decor and interactive exhibits. With capacity to host both intimate groups and large gatherings, Pavillons de Bercy combines history, entertainment and a distinctively Parisian atmosphere for unforgettable events.
Hôtel Les Jardin du Marais
Located in the heart of the Marais, Paris’ trendy, historic district, Les Jardins du Marais, offers village charm in the heart of the city. The hotel has 800 square metres of conference space and 11 customisable modular lounges to suit any event.
All the conference spaces look onto a 1,500 square metre private garden, which provides natural daylight for up to 450 people.
Le Pavillon Royal
Built on five hectares of lush green land facing the Grand Lac Inférieur of the Bois de Boulogne, the Royal Pavilion consists of three separate spaces ranging from 100 to 450 square metres.
“The Royal Pavilion is one of the most special venues in Paris due to its location and history,” Labrit says. “The initial structure was built during the Second Empire, with the recognisable frame of the venue completed in 1899. The Bois de Boulogne is a beautiful area which provides a great backdrop for any event.”
La Coupole
La Coupole is one of the most famous brasseries in the world. Based in Montparnasse, La Couple’s art deco interior is listed as a historical heritage site. Guests will feel like they’re back in the Roaring Twenties.
The restaurant can accommodate up to 400 guests for a seated meal or 500 guests for a cocktail party.
Le Palais Brogniart
Opened in 1826, Le Palais Brogniart was home to the French Stock Exchange for almost two centuries. Today, it’s one of the city’s leading event venues .
Le Palais offers nine event spaces of differing sizes. The largest Grand Auditorium has state-of-the-art AV equipment and can host up to 590 guests. The most prestigious event space, The Nave, has hosted major events since 1827. A large marble hall with a 28-metre-high glass ceiling, The Nave can host 500 guests for conferences, 1,200 for a cocktail event or 550 and seated dinners.
L’Hôtel Particulier
Located in Montmartre, L’Hôtel Particulier boasts the largest private garden in Paris. Known as the ‘countryside in Paris’, the property offers multiple rooms for events. These can host private receptions and cocktail parties as well as photoshoots and filming.
“L’Hôtel is a magical venue. It gives guests the chance to be transported to the countryside while in the heart of the city,” Labrit says.
