7 must-do experiences in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is rapidly unlocking its Meetings, Events, Incentives and Exhibitions (MICE) potential; but what can delegates do after busy days of meetings or conferences?

“There is an endless array of places to visit in Abu Dhabi,” Abu Dhabi Conventions & Exhibition Bureau Department Manager UK & Ireland Keith Barron says. Here he rounds up just a few of the rich experiences Abu Dhabi has to offer, ideal for incorporating into incentive travel programmes.

1.      Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Visit the world’s first Ferrari-branded theme park on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, which celebrates the spirit of the legendary racing company. Experience high-adrenaline rides, including the world’s fastest rollercoaster, as well as simulators and racing memorabilia, and find out more about the Ferrari story. Groups can also consider dinners at its restaurants and state-of-the-art facilities.

2.    Louvre Abu Dhabi

Located on Saadiyat Island, this art museum is described by the Louvre as “France’s largest cultural project abroad”. It’s full of beautiful exhibitions where you can soak up the rich history and culture following your event, plus a range of restaurants to enjoy.

3.      Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

As the largest mosque in the country, it is the key place of worship for daily prayers, and is full of riches, both physically and spiritually. See and feel the quality, scale and architectural beauty of the building. It’s a symbolic place not only for Islam, but for the unity of continents and nations.

4.      Empty Quarter

Explore breathtaking natural landscapes, dune bashing, kayaking through mangroves, touring conservation parks and lazing on white-sand beaches. Or enjoy the majestic Liwa Desert, the entrance to the famed Empty Quarter. It has the world’s largest uninterrupted sand mass with some of the world’s tallest sand dunes.

5.      Observation Deck at 300

The only public observation deck on a high-rise building in Abu Dhabi. Experience a spectacular bird’s-eye view of Abu Dhabi’s city backdrop, while enjoying some delicious refreshments – a great place for a pre-meeting event perhaps?

6.       The Corniche

There are miles of expanded walkways along the waterfront; enjoy the views in the local cafés and restaurants or stroll along the promenade.

7.  Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi

Voted the Middle East’s Leading Water Park 2022, this is a great day out as a pick-me-up after several days of meetings. Thrill-seekers can experience more than 40 rides and slides, or sunbathers can soak up the rays relaxing by the pools or in private cabanas.
