Our partnership with 4Ocean

Reed & Mackay 4Ocean Partnership Announcement

4ocean is an ocean clean-up company dedicated to ending the ocean plastic crisis. As a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp, it harnesses the power of business to fund a global clean-up operation that’s responsible for recovering millions of pounds of plastic and rubbish from the world’s oceans, rivers and coastlines.

Oceans regulate our climate, they feed us; they’re an essential part of our world. A world that our clients travel throughout every day of the year for business and event commitments and one that, as a travel management company, we can help our clients travel across more sustainably.

“The risk to the ongoing health of our seas and oceans from plastic waste is enormous and needs urgent action to bring about improvement,” Reed & Mackay International Development and Sustainability Director Chris Truss says. “I’m delighted and proud that Reed & Mackay has chosen to support the magnificent work 4ocean undertakes and look forward to getting involved with my colleagues to help where we can.”

4ocean manages one of the world’s largest ongoing ocean clean-up operations and employs hundreds of professional, full-time captains and crews who are cleaning the world’s oceans, rivers and coastlines every single day.

“Our partnership with 4ocean is so valuable, not just because of the contribution we can make to increasing its environmental impact, but also because of the benefits its work brings to local fishermen and communities,” Reed & Mackay Sustainability Manager Myla McPhail adds. “4ocean creates social and environmental gains while working on the principles of a circular economy. I’m excited to work with an organisation that’s already demonstrating a great example of how all responsible businesses should be operating in the near future.”

At Reed & Mackay we understand the importance of sustainability to our clients and colleagues around the globe, we are committed to a greener future and are excited to be part of the solution in the battle against ocean plastic.
