Women continue to be a growing demographic in the workplace. They also play a crucial role as business travellers. Women shape key trends and drive growth in important areas, as represented in global traveller data taken from the 2024 GBTA Business Travel Index<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The data reflects that women make up the majority of professionals on both the buyer and supplier sides of the industry. In a GBTA global survey of more 600 global business travel professionals, women represented 67% of travel managers and buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When a company needs to send someone on a business trip, they send the right expert, whatever their gender. Yet while everyone faces the challenges that travel can present \u2013 from transport delays and cancellations to jet lag and disruption to wellbeing practices \u2013 it\u2019s important to acknowledge female employees, and those who identify as female, may have different challenges to travelling with confidence than male counterparts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a World Travel Protection survey of global business travellers<\/a> last year, the number of female respondents saying travelling for work is less safe for women than men stood at a high 71%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how can the travel industry better support female business travellers<\/a>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this Thought Leadership Reed & Mackay aims to generate further discussion on how and where the travel industry can better support female business travellers and acknowledge the complexities the community faces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
