{"id":57695,"date":"2024-07-25T15:39:25","date_gmt":"2024-07-25T14:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/?p=57695"},"modified":"2024-07-25T15:39:26","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T14:39:26","slug":"changing-landscape-of-corporate-travel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/ae\/changing-landscape-of-corporate-travel","title":{"rendered":"What\u2019s leading the changing landscape of corporate travel?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Travelling for conventions and conferences, seminars and training, is a trend leading the changing landscape of corporate travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This trend was revealed as the most common purpose of corporate travel in the<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbta.org\/global-business-travel-industry-spending-expected-to-hit-record-1-48-trillion-in-2024\/\">Global Business Travel Association\u2019s (GBTA) 2024 Business Travel Index Outlook<\/a>, announced at the association\u2019s convention in Atlanta, Georgia, this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The value of in-person meetings and events<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And it\u2019s a trend that Reed &amp; Mackay CEO \u2013 UK, Europe &amp; Global Events Julie Oliver\u00a0believes is set to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHybrid working is, in part, propelling the trend, as business travel and meetings and events play a huge role in generating a strong company culture, as well as both retaining and attracting talent,\u201d Oliver says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMeetings and events need to be at the heart of a company\u2019s people strategy and we saw this trend emerge two years ago as we were coming out of Covid. It&#8217;s one that sits behind our acquisition strategies in <a href=\"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/ae\/atlanta-events-and-corporate-travel-consultants-in-spain-rebrands-as-reed-mackay\">Spain<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/ae\/resia-rebrands-as-reed-mackay\">Sweden<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/ae\/reed-mackay-acquires-italy-based-regent-international-s-r-l\">Italy<\/a>, where events business is strong, plus we\u2019ve seen tremendous growth in the US and the UK in this area \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cit-world.com\/at-last-top-50-agencies-2024-announced\"><em>C&amp;IT<\/em> recently named us the number one agency in its Top 50 Agencies for 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re also noticing the change in travel managers\u2019 roles to encompass an increased meetings and events programme. <a href=\"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/ae\/combining-business-travel-and-events-spend\">Having strong, experienced business travel and meetings and events arms at Reed &amp; Mackay means we can get the best out of travel budgets<\/a> \u2013 saving clients\u2019 time and money \u2013 and upgrading traveller wellbeing and risk mitigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have the vision to deliver all of the above, and that is via our continued investments in technology and new platforms.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"806\" src=\"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Bleisure-2-1024x806.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Bleisure-2-1024x806.png 1024w, https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Bleisure-2-300x236.png 300w, https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Bleisure-2-768x604.png 768w, https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Bleisure-2.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Bleisure travel is seeing a surge, a trend that looks set to continue<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The rise of bleisure travel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, GBTA\u2019s survey highlighted that 40% of the business trips now taken \u2018last three-to-five-night stays\u2019, while 58% said they \u2018extended work trips for leisure [bleisure] about the same (41%) or more frequently (17%) than previous years\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reed &amp; Mackay Group CEO Fred Stratford agrees these trends will continue to evolve. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/reedmackay.com\/ae\/bleisure-travel-policies-everything-you-need-to-know\">Many factors are behind the rise in bleisure travel\u2019s popularity<\/a>; being more sustainable travellers, the cost of travel and the convenience,\u201d Stratford says. \u201cPeople are certainly looking at the purpose of travel more holistically from an individual perspective. And corporates are encouraging this way of travelling too. The importance of traveller wellbeing is another key factor playing this trend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delivering solutions to business travel challenges<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The GBTA\u2019s outlook for business travel and events overall was positive. However, several factors are still likely to impact business travel in the coming months.
